EUROLUX and BTMEKO type

EUROLUX and BTMEKO type smoke and heat exhaust ventilation units are intended for the withdrawal of smoke and heat from rooms in fire. Properly designed and installed smoke removal skylights perform the following functions in case of fire:

 

 

·  remove smoke and poisonous gases from the lower part of the room

·  facilitate evacuation and rescue operations;

·  ensure safety of the structures and equipment of the building;

·  reduce intermediate fire damage resulting from emissions of smoke and hot gases;

·  under normal conditions of the operation of buildings, hatches perform the function of roof windows and, if additionally equipped with electrical opening mechanisms, natural ventilation function.

EUROLUX type smoke and heat exhaust ventilation units manufactured by UAB Buitmena were tested by a European Union notified laboratory, comply with the requirements established by the standard LST EN 12101-2, and are marked with the CE mark, which enables selling these products in the markets of the EU Member States, as well as by a Russian Federation notified laboratory and comply with the fire safety requirements of GOST R 53301-2009.

The structure of a smoke removal skylight consists of a dome – hinged segment (the upper part of the skylight), base (the lower part of the skylight), and opening mechanism.

The hinged segment of smoke removal skylights consists of a frame and dome. The frame is made of aluminium profiles, and the dome is made of acrylic plastic (PMMA) and solid-cast polycarbonate (characterised by higher resistance to shock). Acrylic domes are also manufactured in the HEATSTOP version (such domes reflect infrared rays). Acrylic domes are manufactured in the following modifications: single-, double-, or three-layer, and can be made either matted or transparent (other customised colours are available by separate orders). Besides, combined domes consisting of a single- or double-layer acrylic (PMMA) dome with an integrated 10 – 25 mm chambered polycarbonate (PC) board can be manufactured according to special orders.

ECOLUX type smoke and heat exhaust ventilation units manufactured by UAB Buitmena were tested by a European Union notified laboratory, comply with the requirements established by the standard LST EN 12101-2, and are marked with the CE mark, which enables selling these products in the markets of the EU Member States, as well as by a Russian Federation notified laboratory and comply with the fire safety requirements of GOST R 53301-2009.

The hinged segment of smoke removal hatches consists of a frame and dome. The frame is made of aluminium profiles, and the filler is made of 10 – 25 mm chambered polycarbonate board, either matted or transparent. It should be emphasised that these boards are classified as hardly flammable, self-extinguishing, or in case of thicker boards, fire-retarding. Besides, combined domes consisting of a single- or double-layer acrylic (PMMA) dome with an integrated 10 – 25 mm chambered polycarbonate (PC) board can be manufactured according to special orders.

 

The base of a smoke removal skylight can be made in the following modifications:

1a)      Galvanised steel sheet with a thickness of at least 1.25 mm (this type of base should be fitted with an additional insulation layer of mineral wool, polystyrene foam, or another thermal insulating material with a thickness of at least 40 mm). Steel bases are manufactured in the following modifications: oblique (with a height of 350 or 500 mm) or straight (with a height of 350 or 500 mm). If requested by the client, bases with heights of 300 – 750 mm can be manufactured. The thermal conductivity factor of the bases is approximately 1.0 W/m2K (provided that the base is insulated with a 40 mm thick layer of mineral wool).                

1b)      Polyester laminate reinforced with glass fibre. Fire retardant polyurethane layer with a thickness of 20 mm is laid between the layers of laminate. Bases are manufactured as oblique (with a height of 150, 300, or 500 mm) or straight (with a height of 150, 300, or 500 mm). The thermal conductivity factor of the bases is approximately 0.95 W/m2K.

It is also possible to manufacture bases with a lower coupling adjusted to corrugated and trapezoidal parameters of roof steel sheets. (Possibility to additionally paint in accordance with the RAL colour palette)
